Job Description Job Title: EC&I Technician Location: Knowsley, Liverpool Salary: S alary open to discussion company vehicle and generous benefits package Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm. Permanent Hybrid Working (ideally 2 days office, 3 days remote) and flexibility depending on requirements of the business. Overview: Technical Partners are working with a leading UK energy business seeking a EC&I Technician to join the engineering team. As the Electrical Controls and Instrumentation (EC&I) technician you will be reporting to the Head of Engineering Services and will be responsible for designing, developing, installing and commissioning control systems and instrumentation that our clients use to monitor and control the process at their customers and operational depots throughout the UK, including faut finding and rectification on sites across the country. Travel requirements around the UK are part of this role and candidates must be flexible to accommodate this. Diagnose and rectify faults on electrical installations, PLCs, motors, valves, lighting, and gas/flame detection systems. Read and interpret line drawings, P&IDs, and FDS documents. Design new control systems and develop Functional Design Specifications. Attend HAZOP, LOPA & SIL studies and assist with commissioning new facilities. Collaborate with design, mechanical, and electrical engineers to deliver projects. Ensure compliance with cyber security standards and participate in FAT/SAT procedures. What We’re Looking For: Technical Expertise: PLC programming (Siemens Step7 & TIA), hazardous area electrical systems, MODBUS/Profi-bus/Profi-net communications. Instrumentation Skills: Calibration, inspection, and testing of pressure, level, flow, and temperature instruments. Time-served EC&I or electrical apprenticeship Level 3 NVQ Electrical or Level 3 BTEC Instrumentation & Control Engineering Compex EX01-4 18th Edition Additional Skills: Fault-finding, problem-solving, IT literacy, and strong communication. Desirable: SCADA/DCS knowledge, TUV Functional Safety certification, IPAF & PASMA licenses.
