Role: Children’s Residential Support WorkerBased: LeicestershireRate: £26,000 - £29,000 (dependent on experience and qualifications)Start Date: ASAPContract Type: PermanentHours: 37 hours per week on a 3-week rolling rota with one sleep-in per weekOur client, one of the UK’s leading Children’s Charities, is looking to recruit Children’s Residential Workers to work across their new Children’s Homes in Leicestershire.They are working in partnership with the County Council to increase children’s residential provisions across the county and provide high-quality support and care to some of Leicestershire's most vulnerable children.They are recruiting for a number of homes across the county, including Emotional Well Being Assessment, Contextual Safeguarding, Mental Health, Family Assessment, and SEN.Role synopsis below:Supporting children and young people in a 3-bed home in a trauma-responsive wayKey working young people with complex needs and behaviours, including those who have experienced Child Sexual Exploitation/ Abuse, Domestic Abuse, and Family/ Placement BreakdownWorking collaboratively with a range of partner agencies, services, and professionals (including Social Services, CAMHS, Schools, and the Police) to best safeguard and meet the needs of the young personEnabling young people to gain confidence and resilience and find ways to respond to and manage their self in relation to challenging behaviourWorking to establish strong, positive, and consistent relationships and workingCreating a warm and homely environment and supporting with general upkeep, cooking, and teaching the young people daily living skillsSafeguarding and protecting the young people and demonstrating a good understanding of themes relating to child sexual and criminal exploitationEncouraging and enabling young people to attend education, training, activities, and work, and supporting them to identify, work towards, and achieve their goalsThey encourage Residential Workers to work in a flexible and adaptable manner and use their own hobbies and interests (i.e. baking, yoga, football, gardening, fixing cars etc) to engage and work creatively with the young people. You will also work to encourage and foster the young person’s own interests and hobbies and ultimately help to shape the young person’s life.You will be working for a fantastic charity that truly places the children at the heart of their service and values their employees.
