Engineer (Asset Management) | 10198 | Permanent Contract | 37 hours per week | £37,280 to £39,152 per annum (Scale I) | County Hall, Norwich
As the Engineer (Asset Management), you’ll help ensure Norfolk continues to secure vital Department for Transport (DfT) funding, while supporting the planning and delivery of programmes that keep our roads, footways, and cycleways safe and well maintained.
You’ll be part of a supportive team, where your work will directly influence long‑term investment decisions and the overall customer experience of Norfolk’s highway network.
1. Lead on data submissions to the DfT, ensuring timely, accurate responses that underpin major funding allocations. Support Norfolk’s excellent track record of securing full Incentive Fund grants by understanding and meeting the required criteria.
2. Analyse and verify highway condition data, including working with PAS2161 requirements and helping implement any necessary changes.
3. Use specialist software to predict future asset condition and recommend scheme locations that deliver the best outcomes for Norfolk’s roads, footways, and cycleways.
4. Explore innovative materials and processes, tracking their performance to inform proactive and preventative maintenance. Carrying out visual inspections across our network—particularly A and B roads—to support these Programme developments and champion strong Asset‑Management practices.
5. Contribute to our Skid Resistance Policy, including site visits, programming works, and monitoring outcomes.
