The job you’ll do
1. The role requires a die maintenance technician who can troubleshoot, and problem solve technical issues.
2. Basic knowledge of press tool setting, and operation is needed for this role.
3. Working in a safe and orderly manner in all areas of operations.
4. Diagnose tooling problems at press call out and potential repair of the tool at press.
5. Carry out maintenance repairs and refurbishment activities on press tools.
6. Carry out Preventative Maintenance activities to a schedule to maintain tool/die performance.
7. Modifications and improvement activities on the press tools supporting customer production part approval process (PPAP) and/or parts submission warrant (PSW).
8. Record/document die performance and quality concerns regarding the repair details to Die Maintenance Manager.
9. Support and maintain continuous improvements of 5s activities onsite to a high standard.
10. Support Customer requirements where necessary.
11. Work to key performance indicators in the tooling department.
12. Must be prepared to work shifts and overtime.
13. Workload will be driven from objectives and tooling database recording tooling repairs and tooling preventative maintenance.
About You
14. Stoning and polishing of tool steels to a high level of accuracy.
15. Operation of manual milling, drilling and lathes machines.
16. Experience using various hand tools for hand grinding and the use of precision measuring equipment.
17. Operation of surface grinding machines.
18. Experience of TIG Welding, Arc and Mig Welding preferrable.
19. PC Literate using Microsoft packages, Word, Excel, Outlook.
20. Happy to work a 2 shift system (6-2/ 2-10).
21. Experience and qualifications normally associated with successful performance of role.
22. The role requires you to be Time Served (minimum 4 years) at NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
23. Automotive experience preferred.
