We are currently recruiting for an Engineering Manager to support major Nuclear clients based in Warrington and Preston. Hybrid (3 Days Office-Based) We are offering full-time roles on a hybrid basis (3 days per week in the office), available on either a contract basis (Inside IR35 with extensions) or permanent employment contracts. Duties: Lead and manage multi-disciplinary engineering teams delivering nuclear projects across the full project lifecycle. Oversee engineering design, verification, and technical governance activities. Provide technical leadership and ensure compliance with nuclear safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. Manage project scope, schedules, resources, and budgets. Review and approve engineering deliverables including calculations, reports, specifications, and design documentation. Support concept, feasibility, and detailed design phases. Liaise with internal stakeholders, clients, regulators, and supply chain partners. Ensure adherence to relevant codes, standards, and best practice. Mentor and develop engineers and technical staff. Support construction, commissioning, and site activities where required. Essential Experience Engineering Manager: Proven experience in managing engineering teams within regulated industries. Strong background in nuclear, defence, or similarly complex environments. Experience delivering large-scale engineering projects. Sound knowledge of safety case processes and nuclear regulatory frameworks. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively. Desirable Experience for the Engineering Manager role - Nuclear: Previous experience working within the UK nuclear sector. Understanding of seismic, structural, mechanical, or systems engineering. Experience working with major engineering consultancies or Tier 1 contractors. Knowledge of BIM and digital engineering tools. Qualifications: Degree qualified in Engineering (BEng / MEng or equivalent). Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working towards chartership preferred. Membership of a relevant professional institution (ICE, IMechE, IET, etc.) advantageous.
