Role Summary:
The Fraud Strategy & Risk Enablement Lead plays a critical role in shaping and executing the organization’s fraud prevention and risk mitigation strategy. This role is designed for a strategic thinker and operational enabler who can navigate the evolving fraud landscape—marked by increasing complexity, loss of possession, and emerging threats. The ideal candidate will drive data-led insights, foster cross-functional collaboration, and champion governance and capacity building to ensure fraud resilience across the business.
Role Responsibilities:
Fraud Strategy & Data Intelligence:
1. Evaluate the relevance and effectiveness of current data sources and KPIs used tomonitorfraud trends.
2. Lead initiatives toidentifyand implementimmediate interventionsin fraud prevention.
3. Provide analytical support to challenge and refine existing fraud models, particularly around net loss and forecasting accuracy.
Operational Enablement:
4. Manage competing priorities across business units whilemaintainingmomentum on fraud initiatives.
5. Ensure data integrity throughout technical development and deployment cycles.
6. Drive automation and process improvements to enhance fraud detection and response capabilities.
Governance & Capacity Building:
7. Champion governance frameworks that empower resource ownership and decision-making.
8. Support upskilling initiatives to build fraud and risk capabilities.
9. Collaborate with BAU teams to ensure seamless integration of fraud strategy into daily operations.
Strategic Collaboration:
10. Work closely with finance to align fraud strategy with budget constraints and challenge assumptions where needed.
11. Engage with stakeholders across technology, product, and fraud leadership to ensure alignment with funding and broader businessobjectives.
12. Providestrategic guidance on fraud related to non-card A2A (Account-to-Account) payments, balancing short-termimpactwith long-term resilience.
Mandatory technical skills
13. Proven experience in fraud strategy, risk analytics, or financial crime prevention.
14. Strong understanding of Open Banking, phishing,scams, and authentication technologies.
15. Experience with forecasting models and performance metrics related to fraud loss and prevention.
16. Prior experienceindevelopingdata pipelines and enhancing operational processes to advance fraud detection, monitoring, and response functions.
17. Appetite for championing change and challenging forecasting assumptions.
18. Experience with ISO 20022, SEPA Instant, Faster Payments, and fraud controls in A2A and non-card payment ecosystems.
19. Understanding ofOAuth2, OpenID Connect, and API threat detection tools.
20. Knowledge of technologies such as biometric authentication, device fingerprinting,behaviouralbiometrics, and multi-factor authentication (MFA).
21. Familiarity with fraud modelling using Python, R, SQL, SAS.
