The Year 2 Teacher will deliver systematic phonics, guided reading and progressive mathematics as the Year 2 Teacher; design engaging topic work as the Year 2 Teacher; and run targeted group interventions as the Year 2 Teacher. The Year 2 Teacher will moderate standards with colleagues and communicate clear next steps to parents. Year 2 Teacher Requirements • QTS/PGCE (or equivalent) and proven KS1 impact as the Year 2 Teacher. • Confident in phonics and reading pedagogy as the Year 2 Teacher. • Able to attend pre-term planning before January 2026, induction in January 2026, and to begin teaching from January 2026 as the Year 2 Teacher. Year 2 Teacher Responsibilities • Plan and deliver high-quality literacy and numeracy lessons as the Year 2 Teacher. • Use assessment to personalise learning and run timely interventions as the Year 2 Teacher. • Liaise with parents and contribute to curriculum development as the Year 2 Teacher.
