Job Title: Electrical Engineer (Level 3)
Location: Central Middlesex Hospital, NW10
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 08:00-17:00
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Overview
We are currently seeking a qualified and reliable Electrical Engineer (Level 3) to join the Facilities Management team at Central Middlesex Hospital. This is a critical site requiring a high standard of electrical maintenance, compliance, and customer service to support a live healthcare environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering planned and reactive electrical maintenance across the hospital, ensuring all systems are safe, compliant, and fully operational.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on electrical systems in line with statutory and contractual requirements
* Maintain, fault-find, and repair single-phase and three-phase electrical systems
* Undertake maintenance of lighting systems, emergency lighting, power distribution, small power, and containment
* Complete electrical testing, inspections, and associated documentation
* Respond promptly to emergency call-outs and faults within agreed KPIs
* Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, HTMs, and site policies
* Accurately complete job reports, logbooks, and compliance records
* Escort and oversee specialist subcontractors when required
* Communicate effectively with site management, clinical staff, and colleagues
* Participate in the on-call rota when required
Skills & Experience Required
* Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or equivalent
* Completed recognised electrical apprenticeship
* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671) - essential
* Proven experience working in building services maintenance
* Experience in a healthcare or critical environment is highly desirable
* Good understanding of PPM schedules and reactive maintenance
* Ability to work independently and as part of a site team
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
* Good IT literacy for CAFM systems and compliance reporting
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
