Overview:

* Full-time position: 37.5 hours per week
* Language: English
* Location: London, UK (Hybrid); Visa sponsorship not available
* Salary: £38,000 with 4% employer pension contribution

Job Description

GoodWork is a youth employment and social mobility charity, creating fairer opportunities for young people from lower socioeconomic backgrounds. Founded in 2022, we’re a fast-growing organisation with real impact and big ambitions to drive systemic change for the community we serve.

This is a key strategic hire for GoodWork. We have a strong track record of growing our income year-on-year, and are looking for our first dedicated income generation hire to join our team and work with our CEO to build on the strong foundations we’ve established. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in partnership development and be ready to step into a leadership role in a fast-growing organisation.


Responsibilities

Key responsibilities:

* Development of new partnerships
o Leading on identifying, researching, engaging and converting new prospects and relationships, including management of our income generation pipeline.
o Developing compelling proposals, with a focus on creating employment opportunities for young people across our network of corporate partners.
o Working with our comms team to ensure our mission, vision and value proposition are communicated effectively, to raise brand visibility.
* Implementation of our income generation strategy
o Executing the organisation’s fundraising strategy, working alongside the CEO and Engagement Officer towards a shared target, with a focus on corporate partnerships.
o Identifying and pursuing new funding opportunities, ensuring alignment with GoodWork’s priorities and project needs.
o Working with the CEO to develop our propositions, periodically refreshing our value proposition with creative ideas, proposals and content to inspire decision makers.
o Supporting the development of funding proposals, providing feedback on applications and working with the team on drafting key strategic applications.
* Partner and funder engagement
o Working with the CEO to manage and retain relationships with existing partners and funders, including liaising with our programmes team to ensure reporting requirements are met.
o Representing GoodWork at external events, including standing in for the CEO where required.
o Management of partner and funder databases.
* Leadership and collaboration
o Joining the organisation’s Leadership Team, playing a mentoring and eventually Line Management role to junior colleagues.
o Contributing to GoodWork’s organisational development and strategic direction.
o Fostering an inclusive, collaborative and innovative work environment in line with GoodWork’s values, while developing and motivating others to fulfil their potential.

Role Requirements

This role will be essential in advancing GoodWork’s mission. The ideal candidate will have a a track record of securing significant income and managing partner relationships.

* A strong track‑record in income generation, with demonstrable evidence of significant new business income generation and proven ability to develop and manage corporate partnerships.
o We will also consider candidates with proven business development experience in the private sector, with a well‑articulated desire to move into the third sector and ability to rapidly build relevant knowledge and skills.
* Excellent communication and relationship building skills, with experience of managing stakeholder relationships and networking at all levels. Able to establish and manage effective working relationships with people of diverse working styles, backgrounds and industry experience.
* Drive, ambition, strategic and creative thinking, with the ability to frame propositions to deliver mutual benefits for both GoodWork and our prospective partners.
* Results‑driven, tenacious and resilient, able to adapt and persist in the face of challenges and rejections.
* Proactive, with strong organisational and strategic planning skills. An ability to assess, prioritise and manage a varied and demanding workload, delivering to a high standard.
* Understanding of and alignment to our mission. You don’t need experience in the early careers, youth or education sector, however we expect the successful candidate to be able to clearly articulate their passion for our mission and desire to drive our work forwards.
