About the Job

Better Cotton is the world’s largest cotton sustainability programme. We exist to make global cotton production better for the people who produce it, the environment it grows in, and the sector’s future. We work with farmers, ginners, traders, brands, and retailers to deliver traceable, sustainable cotton at scale. Our credible uptake is key to meeting the 2030 strategy and supporting farmer capacity building through member funding derived from retailer and brand sourcing of Better Cotton.


The Challenge

Looking ahead to 2030, we are targeting reducing GHG emissions from cotton production by half, cutting synthetic pesticide use, improving soil health, farm income, and women’s empowerment.


About the role

The Supply Chain Manager will lead the global rollout of Better Cotton’s Chain of Custody Standard, drive stakeholder engagement, oversee the global ginner programme and SCO data function, design and monitor performance dashboards, contribute to supply chain strategy and innovation, manage reporting, and lead a diverse team of 3–6 professionals.

* Lead the global rollout of Better Cotton’s Chain of Custody Standard across key markets, including benchmark countries and those with no in‑country BCI teams.
* Drive stakeholder engagement strategies that target the most influential actors in the global cotton supply chain.
* Oversee the global ginner programme and SCO data function, ensuring operational excellence and evidence‑based decision‑making.
* Design and monitor performance dashboards, adapting strategies to maximise uptake and efficiency.
* Contribute to supply chain strategy, innovation, and risk mitigation, including advancing traceability systems.
* Supply chain performance reporting.
* Lead, coach, and inspire a diverse team of 3–6 professionals to deliver measurable, high‑quality outcomes.


Essential Requirements

* University degree or equivalent higher education qualification in a relevant field with a profound interest in sustainability.
* At least 5 years of experience managing sustainability aspects in textile sourcing, including traceability and system/material certification.
* A commercial mindset and keen interest in sustainability.
* Proven experience leading and managing operations at scale.
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to communicate with stakeholders from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
* Experience leading teams and matrix resources in multicultural contexts.
* A self‑starter and fast learner who is comfortable managing uncertainty, flexible, adaptable and reliable.
* Proficient in English (written and verbal).
* Data‑driven decision‑making: uses analytics to optimise workflows and improve efficiency; proficient with software such as Excel and Power BI.
* Process improvement: identifies gaps and implements solutions that enhance performance.
* Collaborative working: partners across functions and geographies to deliver results.

Working arrangements

The position is full‑time (40 hours per week) and will be based either in London or Geneva. The role requires overseas travel up to 20% annually.
