Job overview Occupational Therapist Adult Learning Disabilities Occupational Therapy Team Band 5 Post: 30 hours per week We require a highly motivated individuals to join our specialist adult learning disabilities team. Advert The post holders will take an active role in the provision of specialist Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions in the Black Country community. With the support of Senior Occupational Therapy staff, the post offers the opportunity to develop therapeutic skills in specialist interventions including specialist seating, falls management and sensory integration. Experience of working with people who have a learning disability and/or mental health needs is essential to the posts, along with a keen interest in supporting individuals to develop and maintain their skills. Detailed job description and main responsibilities To manage a caseload of service users with a diagnosed learning disability who have been referred to the community team To undertake Occupational therapy assessment with a designated service user caseload, addressing occupational performance and skills deficits to meet service users’ needs To plan and implement Occupational therapy interventions (individual or group), using graded activity to achieve therapeutic goals To monitor, evaluate and modify treatment in order to measure progress and to ensure effective intervention Please see attached job description and person specification for more information.
