An exciting opportunity exists for a Maintenance Caretaker to join our Team at Progress Living, working at our site based in Boston, with an occasional requirement to work at our other sites based in Lincoln and Grantham. We are looking for an individual to work within our maintenance and caretaking team to assist in the effective management of all compliance, repairs and caretaking activities in the Progress Living accommodation. Progress Living works in partnership with United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals Trust, managing units of accommodation across 3 hospital sites in the Lincolnshire area. Our contract includes extensive refurbishment and new build accommodation combined with the long-term management contract. Your Role as a Maintenance Caretaker We’re looking for a proactive and skilled Maintenance Caretaker to join our Progress Living team. In this hands-on role, you’ll help ensure our properties and grounds are safe, well-maintained, and compliant with health and safety standards. You’ll carry out a range of maintenance tasks across our sites, including joinery, plumbing, electrical repairs, and internal decorating. You’ll also conduct regular inspections, respond to repair requests, and support contractors to ensure work is completed to a high standard. Key responsibilities include: Performing routine and reactive maintenance and repairs. Supporting cyclical inspections and health and safety checks. Monitoring contractor performance and ensuring compliance with NHS service agreements. Conducting weekly fire alarm and emergency lighting tests, maintaining accurate records. Assisting with occupant inductions and responding to queries in line with procedures. Contributing to team performance and completing basic admin tasks related to the role. This is a full-time, permanent role working 36.25 hours per week. You’ll be part of a close-knit team committed to delivering excellent service and maintaining high standards across all our properties. What We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who is highly motivated and able to work on their own initiative, as well as being a team player. A full driving licence is essential, as well as previous experience working within a property maintenance or caretaking role. Customer service is an essential part of the role, and experience dealing with customers would be an advantage. A willingness to undertake further training will also be required.
