Job summary
Applications are invited for a Junior Clinical Fellow in Plastic Surgery, based at Royal Preston Hospital initially for a 12-month period.
Although this post is not recognised for training purposes, considerable "hands-on" training is provided in line with skills and experience.
You will work in a supportive and educational environment. Please note, this post is not recognised for formal training.
Main duties of the job
This role provides Plastic Surgery experience in a major trauma centre and is suitable for individuals seeking CT / ST1/2 level experience, or ST3. It is ideal for pre-ST3 post experience.
* Admission of new patients, including clerking.
* Participate in ward rounds during the working day, except during breaks and other clinical duties.
* Manage day-to-day patient care.
* Provide cross-cover for colleagues as needed.
* Attend operating theatres.
* Attend outpatient clinics (depending on Consultant attachment).

Health
* Meets professional health requirements in line with GMC Standards/Good Medical Practice.
Qualifications
* Full GMC Registration and Licence to Practice.
* MBBS or equivalent.
Desirable Qualifications
* MRCS or equivalent.
Experience and Skills
* Basic Surgery training or equivalent.
* Completion of Foundation years training.
* UK Experience in Plastic Surgery.
Desirable Experience
* Plastic Surgery experience.
* Evidence of involvement in audit.
Personal Attributes
* Effective communication skills (with examples).
* Good organisation skills (with examples).
* Ability to work within a multidisciplinary environment.
