An opportunity has arisen for suitably qualified Clinical Support Workers to work in the community. The post holder will support the District Nurse in delivering an efficient and high quality nursing service using evidence based practice to a wide range of patients within the locality.
We are looking to recruit a Clinical Support Worker to work in the Hailsham locality.
It is essential that the candidate has NVQ or equivalent, excellent team working and communication skills, and a desire to share knowledge and work within an inter‑professional framework.
The post requires flexible working: 7 days a week from 08:00 to 18:00, which will include weekends and bank holidays.
This is a community post and therefore a personal car and a current driving licence are required. The role will also involve supporting students during basic training and colleagues during ongoing professional development.
The post holder will need to attend an induction and training period before commencing in the role.
Duties
* Provide delegated clinical procedures, dependent on training such as venepuncture, wound care and insertion or removal of a urinary catheter.
* Administer subcutaneous or topical medication after additional training and competency checks.
* Take vital signs – blood pressure, pulse, pulse oximetry, height, weight, neurological assessment, respirations, urinalysis and blood glucose; and elevate concerns in line with policy.
* Recognise deteriorating patient and execute the escalation process, safeguarding the well‑being and health of patients by reporting concerns.
* Document care actions and findings using the electronic patient record.
* Carry out personal care duties when required, such as toileting, bathing and dressing or undressing.
* Assist patients with eating and drinking in line with the care plan from a Registered Professional.
