Following the successful delivery of flagship projects like £multi-million life sciences complex and other major commercial and industrial schemes, we are seeking an ambitious Commercial Manager to join our leadership team in Birmingham. This is a pivotal role where you will shape strategy, mentor talent, and ensure the commercial success of our most significant ventures.
The Role: More Than Management, It's Mentorship.
As a Commercial Manager, you will be the commercial lead for a portfolio of projects, responsible for turning over and profit margin objectives. You will manage and develop a team of Quantity Surveyors at various career stages, fostering their growth while safeguarding the company's commercial interests.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
Leadership & Team Development: Providing full line management, mentorship, and professional development for a team of Quantity Surveyors, guiding them towards successful final accounts and professional qualifications.
Commercial Strategy: Driving all commercial reporting, including CVRs, cash flow forecasts, and revenue reports, ensuring accuracy and providing strategic insights to the Head of Commercial.
Risk & Opportunity Management: Identifying and implementing strategies to mitigate commercial risks inherent in contracts and those arising during project execution.
Process Champion: Championing and continuously improving our commercial processes, from project start-up and procurement to final account and close-down, ensuring best practice across your team.
Stakeholder Management: Maintaining excellent client relations while ensuring Kane's commercial objectives are met, acting as a senior point of contact and support for your team in client meetings.

We are looking for a proactive and influential leader who embodies a 'can-do' attitude.
Essential Experience & Skills:
BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying.
A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar commercial management role, ideally with a strong background in M&E or specialist subcontracting.
Proven experience working on projects with Tier 1 Main Contractors and in-depth knowledge of JCT D&B and NEC contract forms.
Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to develop and inspire a team.
A strategic problem-solver, highly organised, and capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines.
