Associate Highways Engineer (Liveable Places)
Join WSP in the UK & Ireland as an Associate Highways Engineer in the Liveable Places team based in Leeds, Manchester or Newcastle. Deliver high quality engineering solutions that meet sustainable transport needs and contribute to landmark projects.
What you’ll do:
* Work directly with our clients to achieve their sustainable transport needs.
* Act as Project Manager on a wide range of projects, helping to grow and develop our work with clients.
* Stay informed about industry trends and best practice.
* Oversee projects budget and financial performance.
* Undertake technical preparation, review and checking of deliverables within the team.
* Work collaboratively with the Liveable Places team and our colleagues in the wider Mobility team and the wider WSP business to achieve our aims and objectives.
About the Liveable Places team: The team delivers schemes from concept to delivery that include public realm, active travel, traffic engineering, road safety, parking, traffic signals and pedestrian/traffic modelling. We work with local authorities and private clients across the UK, including TfGM, Bury Council, Tees Valley Combined Authority, Leeds City Council, City of York Council, Liverpool City Council, North Tyneside Council, Westmorland and Furness Council, West of England Combined Authorities, National Highways and many more.
What we’ll look for:
* A civil engineering degree, transport planning degree or equivalent.
* Chartered membership of a relevant professional body (desirable).
* Knowledge of current transport policy and standards.
* Proven ability to support winning public sector work and support our offering in Greater Manchester and Liverpool City Region.
* Leadership and management of project teams and individuals.
* Track record in project management and financial control.
* Passion for mentoring and developing talent.
* Transport, road safety, parking and traffic engineering experience.
* Good spoken and written communication skills and the ability to liaise with public sector officials, the public, and senior colleagues.
