Community Mental Health Support Worker

Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm, 37 hrs/week – Office based
Our client are seeking a Community Mental Health Support Worker to join an established community team based in Stockport, working borough wide.
To work on an individual basis, in the community with service users from diverse backgrounds who present with a wide range of mental health problems, life style choices and or chaotic life styles
Manage your own caseload, providing a service to people within their own homes in the community
Assist and support service users to recover their mental health and to lead the lives they choose
Try to prevent the loss of employment, relationships and skills and to help service users maintain and recover their roles in society
Development and implementation of care plans
Support service users in making their views known
Provide practical and emotional support to our services users
Attend meetings, reviews and conferences where necessary
Keep and maintain records of work Requirements
UK Driving Licence, access to a vehicle, business insurance
Experience in mental health services
Commitment to promoting the needs of people with mental health problems and their carer’s
An ability to act calmly in emergencies and to respond in a professional manner to stressful and challenging behaviour
