We are seeking an experienced and motivated Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to lead our small but dynamic Tuberculosis (TB) team based at Singleton Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity for a forward-thinking clinician with strong leadership and managerial skills to drive ongoing service improvement and development.

A specialist clinical background in Tuberculosis is desirable but not essential, as full support and training will be provided. We are looking for an individual with proven leadership capability, excellent organisational skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.

The successful candidate will be required to work on sites across Swansea Bay and Community .The ability to travel between sites in a timely manner is essential

Main duties of the job

1. Provide clinical and managerial leadership for the TB service, ensuring high standards of care in both Latent and Active TB management, under the guidance of the Tuberculosis Consultant.
2. Ensure all care and practice are aligned to NICE TB Guidance and The Elimination of Tuberculosis: An Action Plan for Wales.
3. Present cases at quarterly cohort reviews, ensuring high-quality clinical documentation and timely, accurate reporting via the NTBS platform.
4. Maintain strong multidisciplinary working relationships with Public Health Wales, NHS Occupational Health, the Health Access Team, the BBV Team, and the Inclusion Team.
5. Lead the development and implementation of outreach processes to screen, support, and monitor high-risk and vulnerable populations within the community.

Monitor, evaluate, and report on service activity, outcomes, and quality measures, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

All CNS Roles must adhere to the Swansea Bay University Health Board (SBUHB) core Job description. An additional scope of practice will be required to identify the specifics of the role.

6. NMC Registered
7. Masters Degree or equivalent experience
8. Specialist qualifications, expert level of knowledge in clinical speciality

Desirable criteria

9. Teaching qualification (or equivalent experience)
10. Non-medical Prescribing (v300)

11. Knowledge of service improvement
12. Experience in the relevant specialty Experience of working in a multiprofessional environment

14. Welsh Language Skills are desirable levels 1 to 5 in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing in Welsh
