Hours per week 37 Contract duration (months) 24 Closing Date 21/10/2025, 23:55 Job description Cheshire Constabulary is an innovative, ambitious and progressive force and we are seeking experienced high calibre Police Staff Investigators to join our force and specifically to work on an ongoing murder and attempted murder investigation. This investigation will provide both professional and personal challenge and reward. The investigation and successful officers will be aligned to our Major Crime Department based in Chester. You will be working on a challenging investigation across the force area and beyond, investigating murder and attempted murder cases. Successful candidates will be recruited directly into the investigation on a fixed term contract for up to two years, dependent on requirements of the investigation. We are specifically looking for PIP2 accredited staff investigators who have of working within major investigations and have undertaken family liaison training or are willing to undertake it. You will be required to work primarily on a Monday to Friday daytime shift pattern and from the Investigatory base at Chester, however flexible working options are also available. Flexibility to work from other Cheshire locations if deemed an investigatory necessity would also be sought. Please note that this post is subject to an enhanced level of vetting.
