Overview
We are seeking a Health Care Support Worker to work within the District Nursing Service in the Cheviot locality. The role offers the opportunity to gain experience in a community setting.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the District Nursing Team in managing the daily caseload.
* Work with Registered Nurses during the shift and join the daily report to discuss the patients seen.
* Provide care to patients in their own homes.
* Travel across neighbouring localities within the Cheviot locality as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Experience in the community or relevant care settings desirable.
* Enthusiastic, caring, excellent communication skills and adaptable to different environments.
* Full driving licence required.
* Ability to work within the District Nursing Service schedule and agreed hours.
Employment Conditions
* From 1st April 2026, the full‑time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours; part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑rati, with a corresponding increase in hourly rate.
* If the role is assessed as a regulated role, appointment will be subject to the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme.
