Production Supervisor

We are recruiting for a Production Supervisor to join a food manufacturing business in South Norfolk.
This is a hands-on role reporting into the Operations Manager / Production Manager, where you will be expected to lead staff on the shop floor by example. You will be working alongside the team, supporting day-to-day production activity, stepping in where needed, and carrying out duties in line with the rest of the team while overseeing standards, output and shift performance.
What you’ll be doing
Supervising the production team on shift
Leading from the front on the shop floor and supporting the team in day-to-day duties
Helping keep production running to plan and dealing with issues as they arise
Maintaining standards across quality, hygiene, GMP and Health and Safety
Supporting staffing, workflow and shift coordination
Working closely with other departments to ensure materials and production flow are in place
Assisting with start-ups, changeovers and general production activity where needed
Training and supporting team members on shift
Completing production records and related paperwork
Supporting stock and inventory count activity where required What we’re looking for
Previous experience in a Production Supervisor, Team Leader or similar role within food manufacturing
A practical, hands-on approach with the willingness to work alongside the team
Good understanding of shop floor standards including GMP, hygiene and Health and Safety
Experience leading people in a fast-paced production environment
Ability to organise workload, manage priorities and keep production moving
Good communication skills and a straightforward approach to managing people
Confidence dealing with day-to-day issues on shift The role
This role would suit someone who is comfortable being visible on the shop floor, leading by example, and getting involved in the work when needed. You will be expected to support the team directly, keep standards in place, and help make sure production runs properly across the shift.
