About The Role
The Assistant Operations Manager reports to the Senior Operations Manager. This position plans, directs, coordinates, and manages Bermex operations. It serves as the liaison between field staff, the corporate office, and clients while ensuring operational objectives are met through safety, productivity, quality, techniques, and profit. The role requires strong organization, time‑management, and communication skills.
What You’ll Do
* Supervise and assist the operations team: coordinate work schedules, oversee projects, support technicians, line locators, and meter readers, assist when objectives are not met, supervise and train employees, travel when required, walk long distances in various weather conditions, exert physical force moving objects.
* Act as the liaison between field, corporate, and clients: conduct meetings, ensure contract terms, start new contracts, assist sales team as needed, assist senior leaders, prepare documents, reports, analyses, presentations, monitor time sheets, job costs, profitability, audits, productivity, purchase information, communicate with customers, refer complaints, adhere to customer guidelines, facilitate client communication.
* Other duties as assigned.
About You
Must haves:
* Education: High School Diploma or GED.
* Experience: 2 years of field experience in meter reading, natural gas line locating, or leak surveying.
Nice to haves:
* Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management.
* Experience: 3+ years in meter reading, line locating, or leak surveying; 1+ years of supervisory or management experience.

* Time‑management skills to finish daily meter reads efficiently.
* Excellent communication skills with management and customers.

* Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Teams, Outlook).
Drug/Alcohol Testing
* Testing required per Non‑Regulatory requirements for employees working with water, electric or meters.
* Testing required per Federal DOT regulations for employees working with gas meters.
* Drug/alcohol testing is required.
