Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulatory Officer - Field Based - 31634
Overview
The Regulatory Officer role will be based in the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) team within Batteries, WEEE and Shipments, part of Environmental Markets and Regulation. We’re a national team with officers based across England. National travel and overnight stays will be required. You will regulate a range of businesses who operate within the Producer Responsibility regime. Your job will be to ensure that producers, reprocessors and exporters of waste comply with their responsibilities.
Responsibilities
* Undertake audits (both on site and virtual)
* Take appropriate enforcement action when necessary
* Disrupt non-compliance
* Collate and analyse complex data to help make evidence-based decisions on regulation compliance
* Handle confidential and sensitive information whilst working within data protection guidelines
* Contribute to the development and improvement of processes and procedures
The role is varied, vital and challenging. Being able to work as part of a dispersed team yet be self-motivated and disciplined is a must.
Experience/Skills Required
We are looking for people with various types of experience who can demonstrate the capabilities and interpersonal skills needed for the role. Waste industry or regulatory experience is not necessary as you will receive full training. We are looking for people who enjoy working both outdoors and in an office environment. Demonstrating the right behaviours is very important to us. You should be able to show us that you are:
