Location: Carlisle or Workington

Salary: £32,061 to £32,597 per annum

Hours: 37 per week

Contract: Temporary (18 months)


About This Opportunity

As a Health and Wellbeing Officer, youll help people across Cumbria live healthier, happier lives. Youll work with individuals aged 16 and over, as well as their families and communities, to make positive changes and reduce the need for formal support services.


You Will

* Help people set and reach their health and wellbeing goals
* Focus on communities that face more health challenges
* Support people to make changes in their lifestyle, relationships, and finances
* Build confidence and independence
* Encourage people to connect with local groups and activities
* Work with other services to find practical alternatives to formal support

Youll also help people already receiving statutory support to move towards more community-based or independent living when possible.

In times of disease outbreaks or pandemics, youll support the Public Health team by helping to trace contacts. This includes:

* Speaking with people who have tested positive and their contacts
* Giving advice and guidance
* Recording important information
* Working with other agencies to help stop the spread
* Reporting any complex or safeguarding issues

DBS Checks

This role requires a DBS check. The level of check for this role is - Enhanced DBS Check with a Childrens and Adults Barred List check.

Please note this role involves working in regulated activity with Adults and Children. It is an offence for people who are barred from working in regulated activity to apply for roles that require them to work unsupervised with Adults and Children.
