Our school:
Thank you for your interest in this role. This is an exciting time to be joining Oaks Park High School.
We were proud to achieve a ‘Good’ outcome in all categories during an Ofsted Inspection in October 2023 in which Ofsted commented the following:
‘The school is ambitious for all pupils, including those with SEND. It has designed a curriculum that sets out high academic expectations’
‘Teachers have strong subject knowledge. This is reflected in their high-quality explanations of subject content’
‘Pupils are respectful and polite. They understand the school’s expectations in terms of conduct and behaviour’
‘Staff know their pupils well, and they build positive relationships with them’
The school is an increasingly popular choice within the local community and we are delighted to advertise this role due to an expansion within the school and a larger intake of students in September 2025.
We have produced a short video so you can gain an insight into working at Oaks Park High School. It includes some of the staff you will potentially be working alongside and can be found here - youtube.com/watch?v=iPVfks5Ob4o
The post:
We are looking for a new CSO to join Oaks Park High in a non-teaching post which will give the successful candidate an excellent opportunity to work closely with young people supporting them in their school life.
The CSO will work with allocated subject areas to support the smooth running of the departments and relieve teaching staff from tasks that do not require teaching qualifications.
You will report directly to the attached SLT link who oversees CSOs.
The CSO will supervise whole classes during short-term absence of teachers and where additional cover is required within the school generally (see job description). You will also supervise students in extra-curricular, detention, study or homework clubs when required and run intervention sessions with materials provided by teachers.
The CSO will be expected to provide administrative and clerical support for the department(s) and work closely with both teaching and support staff at all levels as well as with parents/carers, students and external agencies.
Training in school systems and practices will be provided.
See the job description/person specification (below) for further details.
Closing dates for applications: 9am, Monday 4 May 2026
We reserve the right to interview and appoint before the closing date, should a suitable candidate apply.
