General Manager Bridgend
£45,000 + 30 days holiday + Bank Holiday + Relocation Package
I am looking for an ambitious and inspiring General Manager to lead the operations of a high footfall and very successful wet and dry leisure centre in Bridgend. With an annual turnover of £2.4m, the centre has just under 5000 members with 1100+ participants on the learn to swim programme alongside a very popular Leisure Splash Pool, Hydro Pool and Toning Room, an extensive group exercise class timetable and wide range of teams sports and activities and soft play across the centre. You will be leading a team of heads of department and will have a total of around 100 full and part time team members and freelance instructors. Working at the heart of the community you will also play a pivotal role in engaging with and delivering a wide range of community wellness programs and initiatives
As Centre Manager, you will:
1. Provide day-to-day leadership to staff and managers, ensuring high standards of performance, customer service, and safety.
2. Take responsibility for the financial and operational success of the centre, including managing budgets and delivering against ambitious KPIs.
3. Meet and exceed monthly sales and retention targets for both memberships and learn to swim participation.
4. Develop and oversee a diverse programme of activities that balances commercial performance with community needs.
5. Be responsible for new product launches and project manage a significant cap ex investment in the gym.
6. Work with multiple stakeholders and community wellness and sports development partners.
7. Drive continuous improvement, championing initiatives such as Quest and other quality standards.
8. Lead, mentor, and inspire your team, ensuring they feel supported, developed, and engaged.
