Job Description
New Directions Education is recruiting confident, proactive and reliable Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools on the Wirral. This role is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced school support staff looking to gain valuable classroom experience.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring students remain on task and engaged with pre-set work.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supervising whole classes during teacher absence
2. Managing classroom behaviour and promoting a positive learning environment
3. Delivering pre-prepared work and instructions set by the teacher
4. Supporting students with their learning as required
5. Reporting back to teaching staff on attendance, engagement and behaviour
The Ideal Candidate
6. Confident, calm and able to lead a classroom
7. Strong communication and organisational skills
8. Experience working with young people (schools, tutoring, youth work, coaching etc.)
9. Resilient, adaptable and able to think on your feet
10. Ideal for graduates considering teacher training
