Sanctuary Personnel are recruiting for a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist (Band 7–8a) to join a specialist trauma and PTSD psychology service supporting police officers and first responders. This is a well-established service known for its strong clinical governance, excellent leadership, and commitment to staff wellbeing.The service is open to newly qualified psychologists as well as experienced clinicians. A genuine interest in trauma-focused work and a desire to develop specialist skills is valued over extensive prior experience.

Person SpecificationEssential RequirementsHCPC registration as a Clinical Psychologist or Counselling PsychologistStrong interest in trauma psychology and PTSD treatmentExcellent clinical assessment and formulation skillsAbility to work autonomously and within a multidisciplinary teamWillingness to undergo police vetting (no prior clearance required)Flexibility to work primarily on-site with some travel as needed
Desirable ExperienceTraining in trauma-focused therapies such as EMDR or TF-CBTExperience working with trauma, emergency services, or high-risk populationsPrevious experience delivering PTSD or trauma-focused interventions
