The Role

The Dean Trust is seeking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic Head of Department, Design & Technology to join our dedicated team at Abraham Moss Community School, Crescent Road, Crumpsall, Manchester, M8 5UF. The core purpose of the role will be to teach Design & Technology throughout the school, working as the leading member of the Design & Technology team, setting an example of skilful teaching, excellent subject knowledge, high expectations and high achievement for all pupils.


Key Responsibilities

* Staff development and performance management
* Deployment of resources and accommodation
* Data and target setting
* Departmental handbook, guidance and policies
* Primary liaison and post 16 progression

Qualifications

* Qualified Teacher Status – Essential
* Degree in a relevant subject – Desirable


Skills and Experience

Personal Attributes – Ability to work effectively with pupils, staff, parents and members of the community (Essential); Unwavering commitment to improving the life‑chances of young people (Essential); Willingness and ability to work co‑operatively as part of a team and self‑motivate when working independently (Essential).

Experience – Enthusiastic and excellent classroom practitioner, to be able to teach their associated subject up to GCSE standard (Essential).

Abilities, Skills and Knowledge – Full working knowledge of the National Curriculum requirements for their associated subject (Essential).
