We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Healthcare Support Worker to join our busy and forward‑thinking Urology Direct team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive and fast‑paced specialist service, caring for patients with a wide range of acute and chronic urological conditions.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a compassionate bedside manner, and a proactive approach to patient care.
* Support clinicians in the delivery of high‑quality patient care within the urology outpatient setting
* Provide compassionate, professional, and dignified care to all patients
* Perform male and female catheterisation (training can be provided if required)
* Undertake venesection and cannulation where competent to do so
* Chaperone during examinations and procedures as required
* Receive and manage telephone referrals from GPs, Emergency Departments, community teams, and patients and document accurately
* Liaise with community nursing teams and complete referrals where appropriate
* Arrange and coordinate ongoing clinical supply orders for patients
* Ensure clinic rooms are appropriately prepared and stocked
* Escalate concerns appropriately and work within own level of competence
* Work both independently and as part of the wider multidisciplinary team
* Develop autonomous working practices once deemed competent and appropriately trained

Desirable Skills and Experience
* Previous experience working in a healthcare setting
* Male and/or female catheterisation experience
* Venesection and cannulation skills
* Experience within outpatient, acute, or urology services
* Knowledge of clinical documentation systems
