Learning Mentor – Specialist Behaviour Provision (Full-Time, Term Time Only)

We are currently recruiting for a full-time Learning Mentor to join a specialist behaviour provision in Bournemouth. This setting provides tailored, holistic support for children aged 5–16 with SEMH needs, Autism, ADHD, and other learning difficulties. Their ethos centres around nurturing the whole child, focusing on emotional wellbeing, building trust, and re-engaging students with education through personalised and therapeutic approaches.
The Role:
* Working 1:1 or 2:1 with students who require additional behavioural and emotional support
* Supporting pupils both on-site and off-site, including community-based learning
* Building strong, trusting relationships to help students regulate emotions and engage positively
* Encouraging personal development, resilience, and confidence
* Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience working with children or young people with challenging behaviour
* Backgrounds in education, youth work, social care, sports coaching, orworking with young offenders are highly desirable
* A calm, patient, and resilient approach
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential due to off-site work)
This role is particularly well-suited to Sports Coaches or individuals looking to transition into SEMH education support.
