About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team at a welcoming primary school in Sheffield. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children’s learning and development in a nurturing classroom environment.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support pupils across the primary age range, helping to create an engaging, inclusive, and positive learning experience for all.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality lessons
2. Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning
3. Assist in the preparation of classroom resources and activities
4. Support pupils with additional needs, including SEND where appropriate
5. Help to maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
6. Contribute to the assessment and monitoring of pupil progress
7. Promote positive behaviour and wellbeing among pupils
The Ideal Candidate Will:
8. Have experience working with primary-aged children (in a school or similar setting)
9. Be patient, caring, and adaptable
10. Have strong communication and teamwork skills
11. Demonstrate a good understanding of safeguarding and child protection
12. Hold a relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant) – desirable but not essential
13. Be committed to supporting the academic and personal development of every child
