Summary:
Under general supervision, performs maintenance, troubleshoots and repair projects on electrical production equipment as required.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Participates actively in safety, and skills training in pursuit of personal improvement
2. Identifies, troubleshoots electrical problems on equipment and facilities systems
3. Performs routine electrical repair projects on production equipment such as breakers, PLC’s, motor controls, motors, and lighting fixtures in a professional manner
4. Gains knowledge of most plant processes and equipment, and may assist in the installation and wiring of new or modified electrical equipment, as instructed
5. Possesses knowledge of detailed electrical schematics, drawings and blueprints required to assemble or repair electrical equipment, as required
6. Assist inventory of electrical parts and related manuals to insure the efficient installation or repair of production equipment
7. Monitors plant motors and starters, checking for hot spots, and completing required reports
8. May participate in on call rotation in the event of electrical problems occurring on alternate shifts
9. Possesses basic knowledge of instrumentation, and works closely with instrument and mechanical technicians in diagnosing and resolving equipment malfunctions
10. Selects, installs and pulls wiring to required equipment locations, making connections, testing circuitry and performing related installation processes
11. Conducts preventive and predictive maintenance duties on electrical production equipment
12. Documents time spent and parts used on projects by completing time, parts and equipment records through use of the Maintenance Management System
13. Good regular and prompt attendance record
14. May perform reasonably similar or related duties as required
15. Assists in keeping the department in tour ready condition
Job Requirements:
16. Excellent safety record and awareness
17. Previous plant electrical equipment experience
18. Previous experience in Food Manufacturing facilities
19. Instrument experience
20. Electrical high voltage experience up to 480V
21. Good regular and prompt attendance history
22. May be called in to work unusual or extended schedules due to equipment breakdowns or similar circumstances.
23. Work with vibrating equipment on an occasional basis
24. Working with potentially hazardous materials
25. Indoor and outdoor
26. Participation in and support of continuous improvement activities
27. Climbing stairs frequently
Education/Training:
28. Minimum of 2 years of industrial or commercial electrical experience and/or two (2) year degree (Required)
29. Must successfully complete all ADM Safety Certification requirements
30. Familiarity with NEC and NFPA 70E Requirements
31. Basic knowledge of process equipment and electrical theory
Preferred Skills:
32. Good organizational and communication skills, and must be self-motivated
33. Ability to team build, train, and work on multiple tasks concurrently
34. Ability to work well with others and with little supervision – (Required)
35. Proven housekeeping and sanitation skills (MSS)
36. Accurate record keeping skills with general computer knowledge
37. Strong knowledge of electrical field
38. Electrical high voltage experience up to 4160V
39. Basic maintenance skills, such as ability to use electrical tools, run conduit and pull wire
