Occupational Health and Wellbeing Lead - 12 Months Maternity Cover

Reporting to the Head of Occupational Health and Wellbeing, this role will be a blend of administration/co-ordination but also research, design and delivery of key Occupational Health and Wellbeing programmes across the Sisk Group. The role will require the successful candidate to work closely with key internal stakeholders such as HR, Health and Safety and our project-based teams, and also external stakeholders such as our occupational health service partners in Ireland and the UK.
This role is a one-year contract to cover maternity leave. It is full-time and based in the UK. Flexibility required in travelling to other Sisk locations across the UK, but there may also be requirements to travel to Ireland and mainland Europe on occasion. An excellent opportunity for a motivated, energetic and passionate candidate to develop their skills and experience in the field of occupational health and wellbeing and to be a key part of building a “best in class” occupational health and wellbeing function within the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities
1. Administration and coordination of various initiatives, including intoxicants testing, health screening, flu vaccination programmes, safety critical worker medicals etc.
2. Research, design and delivery of effective health protection programmes to address construction-related hazards such as noise, vibration, chemicals, dusts etc.
3. Support and promote mental health programmes and initiatives that align with the company-wide strategy.
4. Creation of occupational health-related policies, procedures and guidance to form part of our OHS Management System.
5. Conduct DSE Assessments and lead on the wider DSE Assessment programme.
6. Design and delivery of Occupational Health and Wellbeing content at corporate inductions.
7. Management of Occupational Health content on iSite (Sisk intranet).
8. Collation of metrics and data relating to Occupational Health programmes and activities to feed into Power BI dashboards.
9. Work closely with third party occupational health service providers in effective delivery and management of services.
10. Any other duties associated with occupational health and wellbeing.
Experience & Skills
11. Knowledge and understanding of work-related health hazards and exposures
12. Experience of coordinating health screening programmes
13. Experience in research, design and delivery of occupational health programmes
14. High level of planning and organisational skills
15. Ability to work on multiple tasks and to strict deadlines
16. Excellent attention to detail
17. Good IT literacy, especially Excel
18. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
19. Good technical writing skills
20. Strong presentation skills
21. Ability to work closely with internal and external stakeholders and to create strong working relationships
22. Strong interest in workplace health promotion and mental health

23. Qualification in occupational health, health and safety, or other relevant health-related discipline or working towards a relevant qualification
