The Role
As a Learning Support Practitioner, you will work collaboratively with our Prison Education team, providing support to learners with neurodiverse and inclusion needs.
Based at HMP Whatton, you will manage a caseload of learners, carry out initial screening activities, and develop Individual Learning Support plans. You will promote an effective and inclusive learning environment, supporting learners both in classroom or workshop settings and on a one-to-one basis.
This is a part-time role, working 24 hours per week.
What are we looking for?
You should demonstrate high ethical standards, take personal accountability, and strive for excellence. Relevant and recent experience in a similar role within a learning environment is required, along with a willingness to work towards a level 3 Learning Support qualification.
You should be passionate, creative, and empathetic towards learners, offering guidance throughout their academic and vocational studies. Experience working within a Special Educational Needs setting and positive interaction with individuals in educational or support roles are essential.
