1:1 Teaching Assistant
Your responsibilities will include:
* Providing individualised support tailored to the child's needs
* Managing and de‑escalating challenging behaviour using proactive strategies
* Supporting the child's learning across curriculum subjects
* Helping the pupil develop emotional regulation and social skills
* Working collaboratively with the class teacher, SENDCo, and external professionals
* Maintaining clear communication with the school team regarding progress, challenges, and strategies
* Contributing to a positive, nurturing learning environment
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will be:
* Experienced in working with children with complex SEND or behavioural needs
* Confident and skilled in behaviour management
* Calm, patient, and resilient
* Able to build trusting relationships through consistency and positive reinforcement
* Adaptable and solution-focused
* A team player who can follow guidance whilst using initiative
Teaching Assistant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3) are desirable, but strong relevant experience will also be considered.
