Market-leading manufacturing business require a Buyer. Applicants need operational purchasing experience and a familiarity with MRP/ERP and the nuances of international supply chains would be advantageous.
The Buyer will join a team of Buyers and Senior Buyers reporting to a Procurement Manager. The Buyer will be assigned a suite of international suppliers to manage and ensure an effective flow of materials into the UK facility. This is a fast-paced, production manufacturing environment and the Buyer will collaborate with colleagues in; design, engineering and quality.
Specific duties of the Buyer include:
Work in MRP - transact demand signals, address exception messages and maintain supplier/delivery data
Supplier orderbook management, management of the PO process, expediting, scheduling/re-scheduling
Support quality in regards to supplier NCR issues
Monitor, manage and drive improved OTD/OTIF performance from the supply chain
Collaboration with wider procurement community and also stakeholders within production, engineering, qualityBuyer applicants should meet the following criteria:
Procurement experience, ideally as a Buyer or Junior Buyer
Previous experience within a manufacturing or engineering business
An appreciation of international and global supply chains
Exposure to an MRP/ERP system
An out-going, positive and proactive team player
