We require a ward clerk to join our team to provide a full administrative and clerical service to clinical and nursing staff within Ward 31, in order to support the provision of direct patient care and treatment of patients.
Up to date computer, keyboard skills, typing skills and working knowledge of Microsoft packages are desirable. Computer work is the majority of the workload which includes Trackcare, emails, ordering stock.
Previous clerical / administration experience is desirable; within a hospital setting is advantageous.
You must be able to lift and handle casenote folders and bend and stretch to retrieve file notes and to load / unload case note trolleys.
You should have the ability to work as part of a team and also work independently; be able to prioritise workload and have good organisation skills.
Excellent communication skills are vital. It is an expectation for you to have a calm, approachable, professional manner; this is paramount when dealing with patients, relatives, nursing staff and clinical staff.
You should display responsible and efficient telephone skills in order to rely any information to Nurse-in-Charge, team leaders, clinical staff and also have effective listening skills.
We are looking for a confident individual who is able to deal with the day to day workload in a busy, challenging ward environment.
