Technical Author - Slaughterhouses and Animal By‑products - UKBAT - 32429
Join the Environment Agency’s UK BAT team as a Technical Author. You will draft BAT Conclusions, liaise with Technical Working Groups, and produce a UK‑wide environmental standard for the industry.
Responsibilities
* Draft BAT Conclusions and publish technical documents.
* Liaise with Technical Working Groups and stakeholders.
* Work with the UK BAT Author to develop and publish a new environmental standard.
* Analyse technical arguments and data.
* Manage project timelines and deliverables.
* Support incident management and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
* At least 5 years experience in the slaughterhouse and animal‑by‑products industry.
* Solid understanding of UK and EU industrial environmental legislation (IED, Environmental Permitting Regulations).
* Process engineering, environmental issues, and environmental legislation expertise.
* Strong technical writing, data analysis and critical analysis skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship building.
* Project management, prioritisation, and organisational skills.
