We are currently seeking an HR Advisor to join our client’s busy HR Operations team on a 3 month temporary basis, with the role paying c.£35,000 equivalent on an hourly basis.
This position is based in Central Birmingham with one day per week home working and requires someone to travel regularly to sites around the country, with all travelling costs covered.
This fast-paced role is pivotal in supporting managers and employees across the business, ensuring compliance with employment legislation and company policies.
You will act as a trusted advisor on all aspects of employee relations, absence management, and organisational change, while contributing to a positive and productive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
* Providing guidance and coaching to line managers on people management, employee relations, and absence management activities
* Managing ER cases from start to resolution, ensuring compliance with employment law and internal policies
* Supporting organisational change activities, including restructures and redundancy processes
* Reviewing and interpreting people data (e.g., absence trends, case volumes) to identify risks and support informed decision-making
* Assisting with ill health capability cases, liaising with Occupational Health and supporting managers through formal stages
* Acting as the initial escalation point for right-to-work risks and ensure appropriate action is taken
About You
* Significant experience in a HR advisory role
* Strong background in managing ER cases and absence management
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships
* CIPD Level 5 or equivalent experience
* 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8–5
* 3-month contract
* National travel
* c.£35k salary equivalent
