Role Overview
We are currently looking for a Laboratory Manager to join a leading Environmental company based in the Cambridge area. As the Laboratory Manager, you will be responsible for leadership and line management of staff across the Chemistry Laboratory.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Support line management of staff to ensure the generation of accurate and timely data in line with client expectations and ISO 17025:2017 (UKAS) and MCERTS standards.
2. Assist in maintenance programmes for the Department's specific analytical instrumentation and other analytical equipment used by the Department.
3. Manage the performance, training, and development of staff, including conducting their appraisals in line with Company policies and procedures (including holiday and absence management).
4. Continuously improve and develop the effectiveness and efficiencies of the laboratory in cooperation with the Quality Department and other departments, ensuring compliance with H&S regulations and COSHH.
Role Requirements
To be successful in your application for the Laboratory Manager position, you should have:
1. A relevant degree in Chemistry or a closely related discipline.
2. Proven industry experience in managing a chemistry laboratory; experience in a contract testing business is desirable but not essential.
3. Practical experience within an ISO 17025 environment.
