You will conduct patrols, respond to incidents, write reports, and enforce the site traffic policy. IT literacy and digital competence are necessary for receiving and reporting on handheld devices.
Your clear, advanced communication skills will be vital in managing complex situations. The ability to put people at ease and make calm, quick, justified decisions with autonomy will be crucial, as you may interact with individuals with mental health difficulties, dependency, learning difficulties, or who are distressed or confused.
Previous security experience is essential, and we would be delighted to hear from those with a police or military background.

Main duties of the job
As a Security and Parking Officer at North Bristol NHS Trust, you will provide a proactive, well-presented, professional, uniformed security presence working unsupervised, days, nights, and weekends.
You will:
* respond to incidents on Trust property, including investigating suspicious behaviors or criminal activities such as theft and anti-social behavior
* provide a security presence to support clinical staff, attending clinical incidents to provide support and assistance
* protect Trust property from malicious damage and theft, promoting a safe, positive environment to reduce crime
* accurately record every incident, gather all relevant information, and complete detailed reports
* communicate clearly and effectively, with the ability to listen and empathize
* on a rotational basis, maintain an effective security presence in the Emergency Department (ED), intercepting poor behaviors and ensuring the ED patient service is not impacted or disrupted
* assist with fire alarm evacuations
* uphold and enforce the Trust Parking policy
The position is full-time, working 37.5 hours per week with shift patterns on a rota basis, including days, nights, and weekends.

* Accurately record incidents, gather relevant information, and complete reports.
* Maintain security presence in the Emergency Department on a rotational basis, intercepting poor behaviors.
* Investigate criminality on Trust property and record incidents professionally.
* Complete specialist training for clinical holding and restraint.
* Conduct patrols and site-specific activities as required.
* Assist with fire evacuations and liaise with emergency services.
* Enforce parking policies, support car park operations, and manage traffic as needed.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements and report breaches or near misses.
* Support risk management by identifying risks and implementing controls.
