Description
Key tasks will include:
Mechanical work in accordance with processes and instructions provided, including the disassembly of mechanical equipment, thorough cleaning, inspection, assembly and completion of related documentation.
Work on electrical assemblies & cables in accordance with processes and instructions provided, including the disassembly of electrical equipment, thorough cleaning, basic functional testing, inspection, assembly, and completion of related documentation.
Full co-operation with the production team leader, assigned lead fitter or improvement champion to carry out any tasks necessary to fulfil customer requirements with regards to quality, delivery, cost. Participate in maintaining high standards of house-keeping and shop floor efficiency, and adhere to all health, safety & environmental requirements.
Qualifications
A recognised mechanical/electrical based apprenticeship as a fitter/assembler, mechanic, or other equivalent education and experience. Documentation of relevant and extensive experience may compensate for lack of education.
Experience with diesel engine power generation and electrical distribution products would be an advantage.
Interest in repair and service orientated customer work, and having a "can-do attitude".
You must demonstrate an ability to be work within a team orientated environment and collaborate across multiple functions. Good interpersonal skills and good communication is essential in addition to working in a systematic and structured manner.
A level of overtime working would be required to assist in the management of peak capacity loadings and customer demands.
