We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistant to join our Early Years team. You will support children in a safe, nurturing and stimulating learning environment, helping them to develop socially, emotionally and academically. Location: Nelson Hours: Full-time Salary: £14.25 - £15 per hour Start Date: Tuesday 1 st September 2026 Key Responsibilities Support the class teacher in delivering engaging EYFS learning activities Work with small groups and individual children to support learning and development Promote positive behaviour and support children’s emotional wellbeing Help prepare and maintain a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment Observe, record and contribute to assessments of children’s progress Support children with personal care where required Work collaboratively with colleagues and communicate effectively with parents/carers The Ideal Candidate Will: Have experience working in an EYFS setting (school or nursery) Hold a relevant qualification (Level 2 or 3 in Early Years preferred) Have a good understanding of the EYFS framework Be patient, caring and passionate about early childhood development Be able to work effectively as part of a team Have strong communication and interpersonal skills We Offer: A welcoming and supportive team environment Opportunities for professional development and training Well-resourced classrooms and outdoor learning spaces The chance to make a real difference in children’s early education How to Apply Please apply by submitting your CV, outlining all your relevant experience supporting children in EYFS.
