Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cafe Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and have a keen interest in the hospitality and food service industry. This role involves supporting daily café operations, ensuring a welcoming environment for all guests, and assisting with food and beverage preparation. Previous experience in catering, serving, or hospitality is advantageous, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.
Duties
* Greet customers warmly and take their orders with professionalism and courtesy
* Serve food and beverages promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and hygiene
* Assist with food preparation tasks as required, ensuring compliance with food safety standards
* Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including tables, counters, and kitchen equipment
* Restock supplies and organise stock to ensure smooth daily operations
* Handle cash register transactions accurately and efficiently
* Support the team during busy periods by providing excellent customer service and teamwork
* Follow health and safety regulations at all times, including food safety procedures
* Contribute to creating a welcoming atmosphere that encourages repeat visits
Requirements
* Previous experience in catering, serving, or hospitality is preferred; barista experience is a plus
* Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures
* Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour
* Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
* Flexibility to work during busy periods, including weekends & evenings if required
* A genuine interest in food preparation and customer service
* Basic organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively
* A positive attitude with a willingness to learn new skills
