They have done this through their caring and professional approach to both horse and rider. General duties for the apprentice to include (but not be limited to): Mucking out Turning out/bringing in Tack cleaning Tacking up Feeding Filling hay nets Clipping/pulling/plaiting/trimming Bathing Rug changing Paddock maintenance Schooling Riding available First aid Exercising horses from the ground (lunging, horse walker, long reining, pessoa training etc.) Holding for vet/farrier/dentist The training you will be getting You will be working towards the Level 3 Senior Equine Groom apprenticeship All training will be done at the employers premises with the employer and supported by Haddon Training If you have not achieved grade 4/C or above in maths and English already, Haddon Training will support you to complete Functional Skills in these qualifications at Level 2 (equivalent to grade 4 GCSE) What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship For the right candidate, there will be the possibility of full-time standard employment upon successful completion of the apprenticeship Requirements and prospects Desired skills and personal qualities Communication skills, Organisation skills, Team working, Initiative, Patience, Physical fitness Qualifications GCSE or equivalent English (Grade 4) Desired GCSE or equivalent maths (Grade 4) Desired Things to consider No accommodation is available on site, so you must reliably have to get to and from the yard each day.
