The Communications Trainer and Marketing Associate is a 4 day/week role (Monday-Thursday), based between our Pollok Park media studios and client training venues.
Your role as Communications Trainer is vital in ensuring clients have a truly memorable training day. You’ll play a significant role in giving people the skills and confidence to engage the media and present confidently.
Your role as Marketing Associate means you’ll be responsible for much of our marketing, social media and business development. Our commitment to you is that we’ll offer you a significant voice within the business and the opportunity to help shape our direction.
Who we're looking for:
Essential requirements:
* Experience of working in the media in Scotland for 2+ years
* Knowledge of the how the media works in Scotland/UK
* Experience of interviewing others on camera
* Experience of managing Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and YouTube content
* Positive mental attitude
* Confidence to coach in group settings
Ideal attributes:
* Broadcast experience (radio/TV/online)
* Experience of presenting on-camera
* Experience across a range of media
* Experience of presenting at conferences/external events
* SEO and link-building knowledge
* Coaching experience
Responsibilities and duties:
Training
· Lead and co-present sessions in media, presentation and communication techniques.
· Conduct mock interviews based on real-life or scenario-based issues.
· Share knowledge of the current media landscape with trainees.
· Answer questions related to the media, performing in public and written communication.
· Provide constructive feedback and analysis to build technical skills and confidence.
Marketing
· Contribute to the IG, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube and Facebook social media channels.
· Write blogs relating to journalistic experience and communication principles.
· Curate and edit the weekly Monday morning espresso.
· Attend SEO meetings with Communications Lead and link-building agency.
· Write, record and share regular video blogs.
· Update the website with blogs and new or additional pages.
Business Development
· Answer enquiries via Teams, phone or email.
· Write proposals to clients looking for training.
· Send review emails to course attendees.
· Source new, relevant examples for training use.
Support:
You’ll receive the following support from the team:
· Extensive training and support regarding training course content
· Guidance on presentation, feedback style and course management
· Support in client relations and business development
· Support in setting goals and targets
Expectations:
As the Communications Trainer and Marketing Associate, you’re expected to:
· Give 100% every day in offering enthusiasm, availability and encouragement to others.
· Be on time and stay until the last client leaves.
· Be flexible on timings for travel days and virtual sessions in different time zones.
· Occasionally conduct work outside of hours.
· Research clients in advance and analyse briefing materials.
· Plan your own daily and weekly activities
· On days when training finishes before 1700, perform other duties related to your role.
