The Flour Pot Bakery is a beloved community hub known for its artisanal breads, pastries, and welcoming atmosphere. We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced General Manager to join our team at our store in Fiveways to help us continue to create memorable experiences for our guests.
The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the floor and kitchen service within the store. Ensuring that both the service and food quality is always consistently high and that the overall customer satisfaction is to an excellent standard. This role requires a hands‑on leader who can manage staff, optimise processes, and maintain a positive and productive work environment.
Key responsibilities
Operations Management
* Assist with the daily operations for the floor, counter, and kitchen operations. Ensuring a smooth and efficient service.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and company policies are always adhered to.
* Manage inventory, ordering, and suppliers to ensure stock levels meet business needs.
Staff Management:
* Train, and manage staff, ensuring the high standards are always met.
* Foster a positive work environment, encouraging teamwork and professional development.
* Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate updates, feedback, and company goals.
Customer Service:
* Maintain high standards of customer service, addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
* Monitor and respond to customer feedback, continuously improving the customer experience.
* Analise sales reports and financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
* Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and profitability.
Marketing and Community Engagement:
* Collaborate with the marketing team to promote the store through various channels.
* Work closely with the Junior sous chef and Assistant Manager to implement in-store promotions and special events to attract customers.
Quality Control
* Ensure all food and beverages meet the Flour Pots high-quality standards.
* Collaborate with the Head Chef to help execute new menu items/specials/seasonal offerings
* Maintain the stores aesthetic, cleanliness, and atmosphere to create a welcoming environment.
* Build, lead and develop the kitchen team to the highest standards of excellence.
* Closely monitor consistency with delivery of the menu
* Ensure food safety standards are adhered to and maintained in the kitchen including in relation to hazard control, health and safety, and personal and production hygiene; and to keep up to date with latest guidelines
* Build a strong relationship between BOH and FOH teams to create a professional and respectful environment. Working closely with the Assistant Manager and Junior Sous Chef to create a united Fiveways Flour Pot team
* Oversee for all administrative tasks for the kitchen, including producing weekly rota’s, allergen information for the FOH team, all health, safety and hygiene paperwork, costings for men
* Collaborate with the Junior Sous Chef for menu development and innovation.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager in a fast paced environment (brunch service experience desirable) or similar role in the food service industry.
* Strong leadership and team management skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and health standards.
* Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and handle high‑pressure situations.
* Passion for quality food and customer service.
