We are looking for a Procurement Officerto join our Procurement team.
Where inWellcomewill I be working?
You will be working in the Procurement team, under the umbrella of Finance and reporting to theProcurement Category Manager.The Procurement Team enables the delivery of a professional, value drivenand efficientprocurement service toWellcome’sinternal teams.
The procurement service model is evolving in 2026 to be centralised for the whole ofWellcome. This a significant change for the procurement team and for the wider organisation who procurement support.
Thisroleiscritical in supportingthe organisation through this period of change and embedding the new centralised category management service delivery model.
We are looking for someone to join us on this journey and who is up for taking on this challenge.
What will I be doing?
As the Procurement Officer, you willdeliverprocurement activity forthewholeorganisation,maximising the impactWellcome’sspendcanachieve. You will support theProcurement Category Managers indeveloping andimplementing comprehensive procurement strategies and systems, working closelywith budget holders to ensure decisions are both commercially sound and aligned withdepartmental objectives.

Minimum Criteria:
1. Procurement: Able to design and run efficient end-to-end procurement, contracting and contract management processes, ensuring value for money is achieved and risks are mitigated
2. Interpersonal: Able to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels and facilitate cross-functional collaboration.
3. Adaptability: Able to adapt to changing priorities utilising strong problem-solving skills to identify issues and find effective solutions.
4. Contracting: Strong ability in contract development and negotiation area.
5. Background: Ability to operate in a private sector procurement role
