Consultant in Trauma & Orthopaedics (Foot and Ankle)
This appointment to Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is part of its strategy to remain a preferred provider to local Health Authorities and Clinical Commissioning Groups across a wide range of hospital services.
We are seeking a Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon with a subspeciality interest in Foot and Ankle Surgery to meet the needs of the department.
Key responsibilities include clinical duties typical of an Orthopaedic Trauma service in a large acute District General Hospital (level 2 trauma centre), a 1:8 weekend and 1:4 weekday on‑call commitment at the Basingstoke site, and administrative and managerial duties that support department functioning. The role will work across all three sites, and the timetable will be agreed upon with the Clinical Director for Orthopaedics and the Divisional Medical Director.
Administrative support will be provided by a Speciality Co‑ordinator / Secretary. A current driving licence is preferred.
A recent reconfiguration in December 2019 transferred all Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery to the Basingstoke site and arthroplasty surgery to the Winchester site. This description may be amended over time in consultation with the post holder.
